About Erica Dobbs

Erica Dobbs is the President/CEO of Dobbs Defense Solutions. She has over 35 years of experience in the U.S. Navy, government service, and executive leadership. Her expertise includes cybersecurity, satellite communications, and IT services. She leads the company’s strategy, growth, and operations, focusing on integrating traditional and advanced technologies for government and commercial clients, while promoting an employee-centered culture.

Educationally accomplished, Ms. Dobbs holds multiple degrees including a Master’s in Cybersecurity, Business Administration, and Procurement and Acquisition Management. She has received multiple accolades, including the 2020 G2Xchange Women in Leadership Award, the Entrepreneurial Women of Impact 2023, a Governor’s Citation for National Women Veteran Day, the 2023 Bunker Labs Cohort of the Year, and recognition as The Daily Record Veterans in Business and Law and the 2024 Top 100 Women in Maryland honoree.

In addition to her business roles, Erica is actively involved in community service, serving on the Boards of the Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation, the National Veteran Small Business Coalition, and the Fort Meade Alliance. She is also a trainer in government contracting and cybersecurity.


In 2019, Erica founded Dobbs Defense Solutions, commonly known as D2S. As the President/CEO she drives the company’s growth, overseeing daily domestic and global business operations, including IT and supply chain management, as well as human capital. Her visionary approach seamlessly integrates traditional and cutting-edge technologies, catering to private, public, and government sectors through cybersecurity, IT consulting, and technology training. She is widely acknowledged for her C-Suite Pioneering Leadership, marked by the successful leadership of numerous transformative initiatives. Her adeptness as a human capital and customer-focused problem solver, combined with her strategic acumen, propels business success.

Under her leadership, the company is continually honored and recognized as one of the best in class. Recently, with a two-year revenue growth of 762%, D2S was ranked by Inc. Magazine as the fastest growing private company in Maryland and #8 overall on Inc. Magazine’s Mid-Atlantic Region’s List of Fastest-Growing Companies. Additionally D2S was elected to the Forbes Technology Council, and named as the 2024 Maryland Veteran Owned Small Business of the year by the United States Small Business Administration (SBA).


As a former Naval Officer, Erica occupied a pivotal role in communication, cybersecurity, combat systems, space, spectrum & network management, human resources, training, education, and strategic planning. Her leadership on Nuclear Aircraft Carriers and support for key Federal, Services, and Intelligence agencies underscore her mastery of critical IT and satellite communication systems.

Now as a service-disabled veteran business owner, Erica leverages the skills and leadership experience she gained in the U.S. Navy to grow her business and support her community. She is committed to excellence in business and service to the nation’s heroes and their families.

She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Vet-Force/Veterans Entrepreneurship Task Force and the National Veteran Small Business Coalition (NVSBC). Through these roles, Erica focuses on providing economic security and prosperity to veterans and their families and empowering veteran-owned small businesses.
